TROJAN HORSE
2024 — 2025 Trojan Horse Summer School Themes: Alternative education, collective care, unlearning, commons, and peer-to-peer learning Role: Research, spatial framing, programming support, and strategic storytelling
Project Location: Bengtsår, Finland
This project uses Bengtsår Island as a setting for collective education and experimental cultural practice.
Trojan Horse is an autonomous educational platform based in Helsinki, working across architecture, design, art, and socially engaged cultural practice. Across the 2024 and 2025 Summer Schools, Bengtsår island served as both setting and participant: a remote context for peer-to-peer learning, collective living, workshops, role-playing games, rituals, and shared research. The retreats explored how designers, artists, and architects can question inherited habits, institutional structures, and dominant ideas of productivity while testing alternative ways of gathering, thinking, making, and living together.
